As one of Irvine, CA’s most passionate and creative interior designers, Makkan Design has cultivated an extensive portfolio covering all aspects of mid- and high-end residential, commercial, spec home and model interior design projects.

 

With an intimate understanding of the design process and a vast network of suppliers who provide access to the most sought-after materials, Makkan is dedicated to showing clients that the design of their home is about more than just creating a captivating and comfortable environment — it’s about the profound effect your surroundings have on your very way of life.

Born in Los Angeles and raised in Orange County, Makkan Design founder Almas Shewa received her bachelor’s in design, production and management from California State Polytechnic University. She then went on to receive her master's in design and leadership from Chapman University.

​

Almas has worked for some of the industry’s most celebrated home builders, incorporating various cultures, styles and trends into innovative designs that bring exciting new dimensions and nuance to the interior design space. As her design firm continues to grow and Almas brings new creatives under her wing, Makkan Design is now the gold standard of interior design throughout Irvine and all of Orange County.
